The Environmental Protection Agency Office of Water will hold an informational webinar discussing next steps for implementing the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA). Signed into law as part of the 2014 Water Resources Reform and Development Act, WIFIA is an innovative financing mechanism for water-related infrastructure of national or regional significance.
The webinar will discuss project types, eligibilities, creditworthiness and subsidy level for different projects covered under WIFIA. The program attempts to fill in a perceived gap left open by the Clean Water and Drinking State Revolving Fund programs by providing subsidized financing for large dollar-value projects. Credit assistance can be in the form of loans or guarantees.
The webinar will allow participants to partake in a virtual Q&A with the discussion moderator.
The webinar will take place April 1 from 1-4 p.m. Eastern. No preregistration is required for the event, but participants are encouraged to test their computers for compatibility prior to the event.
